Congratulations to TopGolfer Tour Championship winner David Scully

Congratulations to David Scully from Galway Golf Club on being crowned the 2012 TopGolfer Tour Champion. The two day season finale, hosted at the stunning Fota Island Resort just outside Cork, Ireland, saw David beat off stiff competition with impressive rounds of 69 and 70 for a 3-under total of 139.

Played on the Deerpark Course, this season's tour championship final saw 40 Scratch Cup and Order of Merit qualifiers battle it out on a course designed for championship golf, having twice hosted the Irish Open over the last decade.

After hitting a superb 8-iron approach to the final green, followed by a snaking birdie putt, David said:

"I’ve never been so nervous in my life – I’ve played Senior Cups, Barton Shields and even represented Ireland twice, but this is by far my biggest win to date and I’m absolutely thrilled to be Irelands’ TopGolfer Champion 2012".

Winner of two TopGolfer Junior Scratch Cups in 2012 (Lough Erne and Charlesland) Michael Ryan from Tipperary Golf Club took second place on 141. Third place was Alan Condren from Greystones Golf Club with 143.
